At first, there was a yoyo club.
Nothing big, twenty, maybe thirty teens yoyoing once a week along with their geography teacher. And then the teacher had the crazy idea to organize a yoyo contest for the students; to reward their hard work and to recognize their expanding skills.
A few emails later, that contest had turn into a national championship for the second largest country in size, supported by partners in Swiss, Brazil, United States, Australia, Czech Republic, and, of course, Canada …
With the support of old and new friends, people who believed in the possibility to gather players from accross Canada from even before I did, I am proud to invite you to the 2009 Canadian National Yo-Yo Championship, which will be held June 6th, in the wonderful city of Montreal.
You will get the chance to compete in one of our three divisions, encourage the contestants, meet yoyo-star guests, watch demonstrations and participate in workshops. Come share your tricks and learn a few along with Canada’s best players !

I just read that North
I just read that North Carolina is the same day, and I was considering it because it's not too far away, however this is only one extra hour on the road, distance-wise. Seeing as how I've never been to this contest (or even Canada for that matter) I think that this is something I should look into a little more.
I'll see what I can do to make it, it sounds like a good time.
...good thing I know a little French =]
