Well kind of any way. Initially the idea of Missouri Yoyo came from MODOT.com(Missouri Department of Transportation). So MOYO stands for Missouri Yoyo and when we first started yoyoing every week at the City Museum it was my friend TJ and myself yoyoing. Now as we just wrapped up 2 years of club meets, the MoYo Club has grown to 35 members. This April 26-27 at the City Museum will play host to some of the best yoyoer's in the World, ok maybe the midwest...
As we do our part to usher in new players we also look up to the players that helped shape the community we yoyo in now. So this years' MoYo States Contest will have 4 judges for the yoyo freestyles and 4 judges for the diabolo freestyles! Chris Neff will represent Missouri since he lives here!? Two companies that have contributed to the success of the yoyo club at the City Museum and supported the players with product lines-Duncan and YoyoJam. Thank you, and we are excited to have Sir Rick and Hank Freeman as judges for the second year.
The fourth judge is Doc Pop who is the first person I talked to about diabolo freestyles. Apparently MoYo States will be the first yoyo contest to host diabolo freestyles?! Good thing we have Josh Parker on hand, who is also the event's MC, Doc Pop, Michael Hagerstrom from Circus Day Foundation, and Stu Stupendous Branoff to judge the diabolo division.
We have some great prizes from our sponsors including a first for diabolo prizes from Spintastics and Infinite Illusions. Our major sponsors YoyoJam, Duncan, and HSPIN are flying out judges and or sponsoring with awesome prize packs! There will be a $150 cash prize from Duncan for the Open Division and a $250 cash prize for the 1A division from Throwdown Yoyos, Infinite Illusions, MoYo, DERT, and HSPIN! Speaking of HSPIN, there will be two PYRO Lights and two Envys up for grabs! Yeah...register if you think you can take it from us, http://www.moyostates.com.
